Using RootsRing
Use the service for family history and trusted collaboration with relatives. You are responsible for keeping your password and two-factor device safe and for the information you add.
What is not allowed
- Adding false, abusive or harassing information about anyone.
- Uploading unlawful or inappropriate content, or files designed to harm others (only photos and PDF documents are accepted).
- Sending spam invitations or inviting people who have not agreed to be contacted.
- Trying to access trees, files or accounts you have not been given access to.
- Automated scraping, or attempts to bypass security controls.
Tree owners
The person who creates a tree is its owner and decides who can join and what is approved. Owners should respect requests from relatives to correct or remove information about themselves.
Enforcement
We may warn, suspend or ban accounts, suspend trees, or block network addresses that break these terms or put other families at risk. Important actions are recorded in an audit log.
Your content
You keep ownership of what you add. You give us permission to store it and show it to the members of your tree so the service can work. You can export your tree or request deletion at any time.
Changes
We may update these terms. If changes are significant we will let members know before they take effect.
